Answer:

The three types of magnets are temporary, permanent, and electromagnets. Magnets are categorized by their source of magnetism. Temporary magnets become magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field. They lose their magnetism gradually, when the magnetic field is removed. Electromagnets are created by running an electrical current through a coil with a metal core. The energized coil creates a magnetic field. When the current is shut off, the magnetic field disappears.

Types of magnets:

Magnets are classified mainly into two types.

  1. Permanente magnets.
  2. Electromagnets.

‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤ

Permanent magnets:

→ Permanent magnets are type of magnets who have permanent magnetic properties as long as they are not demagnetized. “Demagnetization” is the process by when a permanent magnet loses its magnet properties by the process of heating or hammering, even some other ways.

‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤ

Electromagnets:

→ Electromagnets are also known as “Temporary magnets”. The electromagnet are such temporary magnets which have temporary magnetic properties only when electricity passes through them. When electricity is passed through metallic rod or current carrying conductor this conductor acts as a Magnetic. Hence this current carrying conductor have all the properties of a magnet thus this is known as electromagnet, Whereas they're also known as temporary magnets because they lose their magnetic properties when the electricity stops passing through them.

‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤ

Difference between both the types of magnet:

→ Permanent magnets are a type of magnets who are naturally having the properties of magnets whereas electromagnets gets their magnetic properties when electricity pass through them.

‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤ

PROPERTIES OF A MAGNET:

→ Every magnet has two poles i,e, North and South poles. These poles can never be separated and “monopoles doesn't exist”. Monopole in Physics means the single pole of a magnet nor the single electric charge. Which is proved to be not existed.

‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤ

Example: Even when we divide A magnet into two halves, Automatically both the pieces of magnets get their magnetic properties and their North pole, South pole.

‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤ

→ Similar to the electric charges (positive charge, negative charge) - Poles attract to each other and Repel. Like poles repel and unlike poles attract each other.

‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤ

Example: North pole of one magnet and the same North pole of another magnet repel while North pole of one magnet and South pole of another magnet attract with each other.

‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤ

Similarly, there are few other properties of A magnet which is commonly seen by us, such a magnet attracts ferromagnetism substances and suspended magnet always comes to rest in north south direction.
