step farming = farmers makes steps on the same piece of land .this method helps in increasing production as there is use of the whole land eithout any wastage of water.e.g. tea,coffee etc

2) slash and burn= in this method, farmers grows crops in a single piece of land.crops of grown for 6 months and for other 6 months no crop is grown . this retains all the nutrients to the soil which results in increased crop production..
