The Earth is divided into three main zones:-
1. CRUST- is the outermost layer of the Earth.
2. MANTLE- is the layer between the crust and the core. It is made up of fluid Magma. It is divided into two parts-
Inner mantle, and the outer mantle.
the Inner mantle is hotter and the outer mantle is cooler. The differences in temperature give rise to convection currents, which gives rise to Earthquakes.
3. CORE- is the innermost solid layer of the Earth. It is very hot and is made up of mainly iron and nickel. It remains solid because it experiences an unbelievable amount of pressure.
Hope this helps.
