what are the difficulties historians faced by using manuscripts

manuscripts were written on stones, tree which were difficult to understand. The language in which they were written was different from us . They used to draw pictures and signs which are not understandable.

Handwriting account of the contemporary world are know as manuscripts. As there were no printing press in those days so scribes copied manuscripts by hand. As scribes copied manuscripts they also introduced small changes—a would here, a sentence there. These brief difference grew over the centuries of copying until manuscripts of the same text become substantially different from one another. It creates a lot difference and create difficulties to the historian, what the another actually trying to say.
