Examples:

☞Roads:

The first, and most common mode of transportation in logistics, is road. From walking to horses to wagons to bikes to cars to trucks, road transportation has been around longer than mode and is utilized the most of any mode in logistics.

☞Maritime:

Maritime transport can be realized over any distance by boat, ship, sailboat or barge, over oceans and lakes, through canals or along rivers.

☞Air:

Aeroplanes and helicopters are two examples of transport modes used in air.

☞Rail:

A railway or railroad train is a connected series of vehicles for rail transport that move along a track (permanent way) to transport cargo or passengers from one place to another place.

☞Intermodal:

Intermodal transportation is the use of two or more modes, or carriers, to transport goods (freight) from shipper to consignee.

☞Pipeline:

Pipeline transportation is a method of transportation which involves movement of solid, liquid or gaseous products over long distances through pipelines.
