Since electromagnetic waves are transverse in nature. We have electric and magnetic fields associated with an electromagnetic wave perpendicular to each other and perpendicular to the direction of propagation of electromagnetic waves.Let the direction of electric field and magnetic field is along Y- and Z- axis then the direction of propagation of EM waves will be in positive X-axis.
