Answer:

I also include Advantages with disadvantages.

Explanation:

Demerits:

1. In opinion of some historians, Din-E-Ilahi give away to much to Hindus, The Rajputs & the Sikhs that was engouh to shake the foundations of the Empire. They became independent to the extent that it became difficult to control them by the rulers who followed Akbar.

2. The role of Theologiens or Ulemas was minimized to such a level that a feeling of hatered was developed in their disciples.

Merit:

Indian Historian especially are in all praise to this order.

1. The allegation that it was a religion is rejected by most of the historian, it was more an imperial order and not a religion for it has not a single characteristic of Religion.

The argument is supplimented by the fact the courtiers of Akbar were not forced to follow the New Din-E-Elahi. Even the Rajputs like Father-in-Law of Akbar & The Finance Minister of Akbar refused to follow it completely but retained their offices.

2. The dream of Akbar as to raise the felling the Indianism in the nation. He wanted to be the both Religious and the Political leader of the country. By crafting this Religion his intention was to remove the differences between the different sects that was the basic hinderence in building up & maintenance of a large empire. This is clear from the fact that after getting dishearted from the speeches of the Sunni Muslim Theologiens, he consulted Hindus, Christians, Parsis etc and observed reverences for their believes.

He started Jharoka Darshan, Stopped eating meat, observed reverence for fire etc just to crub hostile feelings.
