HERE IS YOUR ANSWER ⬇️⬇️

___________________

1) The excessive irrigation may lead to lodging of the crop, may fall on the ground under the effect of strong winds.

2) Due to excess water the roots of the plant may not be able to provide necessary anchorage in the wet soil.

Thus, excessive watering may damage the crop and reduce the quantity and quality of the produce.

Excessive irrigation fills the gaps of the soil with the water ...the soil with no air gaps is not good for cultivation as the seeds do not get air to respire..and the excess irrigation of water in the field increases the amount of salt on the surface of soil due to evaporation of water. The accumulation of salts damages the soil fertility, except rice.Roots do not grow properly in a waterlogged field because it affects the soil aeration. Since the roots do not grow properly it cannot be able to hold the soil perfectly and in strong winds the plant can turn or bend . And it may damage the crop and reduce the quantity and quality of the production.
