The disadvantages of heating the mixture of Common Salt & Concentrated Sulphuric Acid above 200° C during the preparation of Hydrogen Chloride Gas are as follows ====>>
(1) The apparatus made up of glass may crack
(2) A lot of fuel is wasted
(3) Instead of sodium bisulphate, Sodium Sulphate is formed that forms a hard crust that sticks to the glass and is really difficult to remove.
