Sustainable agriculture is farming in sustainable ways (meeting society's food and textile needs in the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs based on an understanding of ecosystem services, the study of relationships between organisms and their environment

DISADVANTAGES

•It limits the proper use of land.

•It also hinders the full exploitation of land, labour and capital.

•This is because it advocates for the use of productive resources sparingly

• It is also not very easy to maintain the fertility of soil by simply rotating crops on the same piece of land.

PREVENTION

Many inputs and practices such as cover crop, crop rotation, etc. used by conventional farmers are also used in sustainable agriculture. Sustainable farmers, however, maximize reliance on natural, renewable, and on-farm inputs. Equally important are the environmental, social, and economic impacts of a particular strategy.
