HEY DEAR ...

The shortest distance between two parallel lines is said to be the perpendicular distance between these two, i.e. the length of perpendicular drawn from a point in one line to another is called the distance between two parallel lines.

there is no particular distance between parallel lines
the shortest distance would be the perpendicular distance
to make it clear
parallel lines are like tracks of a railway line it depends on the width of the train and on nothing else
