Drawbacks of Ruthetford Model:

It was primarily for hydrogen atom. It couldn't elaborate spectra of multi-electron atoms. Wave nature of electron was not justified by the model (inconsistent with the de Broglie's hypothesis of dual nature of matter) It didn't illustrated molecules making process of chemical reactions.

Limitations of Rutherford Atomic Model

Although the Rutherford atomic model was based on experimental observations it failed to explain certain things. Rutherford proposed that the electrons revolve around the nucleus in fixed paths called orbits.Bohr's improvement of the Rutherford model was that Rotherford placed the electrons in distinct energy levels. ... Rutherford described the atom as consisting of a tiny positive mass surrounded by a cloud of negative electrons. Rotherford thought that electrons orbited the nucleus in quantised orbits.
