The Drawback/Defect of Thomson's atomic model ate :-

According to JJ Thomson’s atomic model.

An atom is a positively charged sphere. Electrons are set within the sphere.

An atom is electrically neutral.

•Drawbacks of J J Thomson:

In J J Thomson plum pudding model no separation between electrons and protons as they are hold together inside the atom which is not possible and leads to un-stability of the atom. But atom is existing stable.

He said that atom is positively charged sphere, but as we know that positive charge will repel other positive charge that causes unstabilty.

Also, the results of experiments done by other scientists and rutherford’s alpha scattering experiment could not be explained by this model.
