1. Ensuring the safety of it's people- The state of any country ensure its people are safe from any attack or pandemic

2. Providing essential goods and services.- The state provide essential goods and services at affordable prices. Essential services include provision of water, electricity etc

3. Employment creation - The state of any country provides employment opportunities to it's people so that they can improve their standard of living.

4. Maintaining law and order- The state is responsible for ensuring there is peace in the country and that there are laws which its citizens follow.
