The economic importance of gymnosperms are :-

*Gymnospermous plants are widely used as ornamentals.

*Many conifers such as pine, cedar, etc., are sources of the soft wood used in construction and packing.

* An anti-cancer drug i.e Taxol is obtained from Taxus.

- Many species of ephedrine, which are used in the treatment of diseases such as asthma and bronchitis.

- Resins are used for manufacturing of sealing waxes and water-proof paints.
