Heating increases the kinetic energy of molecule in a matter due to which the molecules move away from each other.
ex- when we heat water it turns into vapour
Cooling decreases the kinetic energy of a matter due to which the molecules come close to each other and get condensed.
ex-when we cool water it turns into ice
