Globalization occurs in three forms:
- economic globalization
- political globalization
- cultural globalization.
All the three have their own effects.
ECONOMIC GLOBALIZATION:Economic globalization is the increasing economic integration and interdependence of national, regional, and local economies across the world through an intensification of cross-border movement of goods, services, technologies and capital.
Industries in all sectors expand.Their market base increases,consumers will have better choice because of which quality of the product goes up. Public run industries too will strive for perfection to withstand competition.
However small scale industries find it difficult to survive, resource exploitation will be rampant resulting in environmental disturbances viz., pollution,global warming etc.,
POLITICAL GLOBALIZATION: Political globalization is when governmental action takes place on a global level, where responsibilities, such as the welfare of citizens and economic growth, are acted upon by an international political body.
Responsibilities on states increases.Focus on human rights will be there .Betterment of citizens happen.Fraternity develops among countries because of mutual dependence.
Sovereignty of countries will come under question.Globally dominating countries dominate the scene-any resolutions by international bodies.
CULTURAL GLOBALIZATION: Cultural globalization refers to the transmission of ideas, meanings and values around the world in such a way as to extend and intensify social relations. This process is marked by the common consumption of cultures that have been diffused by the Internet, popular culture media, and international travel.
Cultural enrichment-cultural degradation happen simultaneously.
There is also a growing concern regarding globalization of terrorism, diseases.
