In electrolysis of water the elements are settled. Hydrogen settles at cathode and Oxygen settles at anode.

Answer:
In the electrolysis of acidulated water, oxygen gas is evolved at the anode. OH– being negatively charged, moves towards the anode (positively charged electrode).
- Ions present in the solution are
SO42−, OH− and H+
- +ve charge moves towards cathode whereas -ve charge moves towards the anode. Hence, during electrolysis of acidulated water, hydrogen is collected at the cathode and oxygen is collected at the anode.
Reaction at cathode: H+ + e− → HH + H → H2
The reaction at anode OH − ion
discharge in preference to
SO42−OH− → OH + e−
4OH → 2H2O + O2
