Examples of primary sources: Oralhistories. Oral histories are accounts given by a person of events earlier in their life. Often, they are taken by family members, historians, archivists, or others who interview older people in an attempt to document events and lives that might otherwise be forgotten.

What are the examples of oral sources?

Folk tales, Powadas, folk songs, folk beliefs, legends etc. act as oral sources for writing history, on the basis of which history writing is done.

These oral sources are not entirely based on facts but are very close to facts and there is no other way but to believe them. Because it is neither a reason to believe completely nor is it a reason to completely deny. Whatever folk tales, folk songs, Powadas, folk beliefs etc. arise, there must have been some reason or the other at their root. Based on this principle, folk tales, folk songs, Powadas etc. are accepted as valid oral sources.
