You can pursue any stream you like, all depends on your interest and your aspiration. I would however, recommend that if you have any interest in Business Journalism, it is advisable to keep Economics and Maths in +12 as it may not be a requirement, but is preferred across the board.

In India most popular fields or journalism with maximum vacancies are civic, political, business and entertainment & lifestyle. For these you can keep any combinations but if you are not very strong in humanities, you might want to start working on that, as journalism requires you to have good GK (Although with the internet desktop journalism, can’t say the same for recent times).

For tech geeks, the fact remains that there is very little scope for good technology and science journalism in India mainly because publications in India do not emphasize on simplifying such content, thus not generating much readership. Most of the writing n these domains are either product-related or PR-industry driven not attracting many science and tech enthusiasts. If you are still interested no harm aiming for international publications. (Writing PHONE REVIEWS is not tech journalism, rather read websites like WIRED and Motherboard to know what tech journalism can be.)

Most important is however, your language and grammar, no matter which language you choose. In television you can still escape being a bad writer with lousy grammar, but in print and online media it is essential to survive. And for reporting you need good people skills, as you need jugaad to get the story.

All the Best!
