The factors affecting liquid pressure are:

  • The pressure acting on the surface of the closed container containing fluid is equal to the force per unit area.
  • Liquid pressure =
  • \frac{force}{area} = hdg
  • Here, is the height of the container, d is the density of the liquid and g is the acceleration due to gravity.
  • So, liquid pressure depends on height and density and it increases with increases in height of the container and increases with the increase in density of the fluid.
  • Accelerator due to gravity is highest at the poles so, the liquid pressure is also maximum at the poles.
