salinity means the saltiness of the water when alot of salt gets dissolved it increases salinity when the factories produces huge salty wastes they affect the salinity . dead sea has the most amount of salinity or is the saltiest in the world

Surface salinity is greatly influenced in coastal regions by the fresh water flow from rivers, and in polar regions by the processes of freezing and thawing of ice.
