◆A paddy field is a flooded parcel of arable land used for growing semiaquatic rice. Paddy cultivationshould not be confused with cultivationof deepwater rice, which is grown in flooded conditions with water more than 50 cm (20 in) deep for at least a month.
Temperature: 16°C – 27°C and rainfall100 cm to 200 cm is ideal for rice growing. But rainfall during harvesttimes is harmful. Annual coverage temperature around 24°C is ideal. Soil: rice is grown well on the alluvial soil or on the fertile river basins.
