Diffusion is a process where matter moves from higher concentrations to lower concentrations.
Factors:
State is substances involved.
Nature of medium.
Difference in concentrations.

Diffusion is the process whereby particles of liquids, gases, or
solids as the result of their spontaneous movement caused by thermal agitation and in dissolved substances move from a region of higher to one of lower concentration.
Factors affecting diffusion are
1.Temperature increases the kinetic energy of the molecule so it moves faster.
2.The more the concentration gradient the higher the driving force of the process and hence the higher the rate of diffusion.
3.The more the size of the molecule the higher the inertia it has so the less the rate of diffusion.
4.The more the viscosity of the medium the more difficult it is for the molecule to move, the less the diffusion rate.
5.The bigger the distance between the two points of diffusion the more time it needs for the molecule to arrive, and hence the less the rate of diffusion.
