Given :  x²  - 4x   - 5

To find : factors

Solution:

x²  - 4x   - 5

= x² - 5x  + x  - 5

= x(x - 5) + 1(x - 5)

= (x + 1)(x - 5)

Hence x+ 1   &  x - 5 are the factors of x²  - 4x   - 5

=> - 1  & 5 are zeroes of x²  - 4x   - 5

Verification :

(-1)²  - 4(-1)   - 5  = 1 + 4 - 5 = 0

(5)²  - 4(5)   - 5  = 25 -20 - 5 = 0

x+ 1   &  x - 5 are the factors of x²  - 4x   - 5

option a & d are correct
