Agriculture depends on many factors. Some of them are:

I. For plants

1. Climate and Water Availability : A crop needs a particular climate to thrive. Ex: Paddy needs a hot and wet type of climate as it needs warmth and a lot of water to grow, so it can grow and give much yield in states where rainfall is common.

2. Type of Soil: A crop also needs a particular type of soil to thrive best depending on its water retention capacity. Ex: Paddy will grow best in clayey soil as it contains a lot of water. Indigo will need a fertile type soil as it requires a lot of nutrients.

II. For animals

1. Food, Land and Water Availability: Animals need to eat food to be healthy. If they don't get proper food and are not taken care of properly, they may get sick. That is why they need open land for grazing and getting adequate sunlight so they don't fall sick.
