 \huge \bold{Lateral \: Displacement}

The perpendicular distance between the emergent ray and the direction of incident ray , it is called lateral displacement.

 \bold{Its \: dependence}

◼On thickness of medium

The more thick will be the medium , the more will be lateral displacement.

◼On angle of independence

Lateral displacement increases with angle of independence.

◼On refractive index

Lateral displacement increases with refractive index.It indirectly states that lateral displacement increases with the decrease in wavelength of light.So, lateral displacement will be more for violet and least for red light.
