1) Density of the medium-the speed of sound is inversely proportional to the density of the medium

2) Humidity of the medium-More humid the air is,greater is the speed of sound

3) Temperature of the medium-The speed of sound is directly prop. to the absolute temperature of the medium

4) The direction of wind also determines the speed of sound-If sound is transmitted in the direction of wind,the speed increases as (V+W) where V is the velocity of sound and W is the speed of wind.If sound is transmitted against the direction of wind,then the speed of sound decreases as (V-W).
