The factors on which the resistance of a conductor depends are :

  • Length

Resistance increases with length.

Resistance is directly proportional to length.

  • Area of cross section

If Area of cross section is small then resistance is large.

If Area of cross section is large then resistance is less.

  • Material

Resistance also depend on the material - copper, silver, etc.
