According to census 2011 ,India had 940 females per 1000 male. In the state like haryana and and union territory like Diu and Daman ,condition is still more poor .According to WHO , India is on alarming zone for low sex ratio.

People in India think that having preference for male baby is main cause of low sex ratio even without abortion. Even some days before even I believe so. Means if couples want male child and if they have male child for first time, then they stop but if they have female child then they go for another one.
