Friction: it depends partly on the smoothness of the contacting surfaces, a greater force being needed to move two surfaces past one another if they are rough than if they are smooth.

The factors that affect friction are as follows:-

1) Surface on which the object is moved or the nature of the surface. i.e., rough surface, smooth surface, liquids etc.

2)The weight of the object or the amount of force on the surface by the object.
