It is just the masses of two bodies which then attract one another according to Newton's law of gravitation F = G * (M1 * M2) / r^2. The attraction for a non spherically circular body will be towards the "Centre of Mass", which is the same as the centre of gravity. This is the point at which we might imagine all the mass to be placed, provided that we are outside the boundary of that mass. So for the Earth, the centre of mass is the point that we might imagine all the mass of the Earth to be placed, provided that we are outside the boundary of the earth and this is the same as the centre of gravity, the point towards which masses are attracted.
