The main factors that cause affects and their absence can damage railways are :-
1. The terrain of the land on which tracks are to be laid down.

2. cooperation of the local communities of the laid down region.

3. soil cover of the land will affect the stability of the tracks.

4. availability of resources to build it correctly.

5. availability of proper labour.
good communication and stability between the system and staff.

•It becomes difficult to construct the railway tracts on the sandy plain of western Rajasthan, swamps of Gujarat, forested tracts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Jharkhand.

•People travel in train without tickets which is a problem for the railways.

• Railway properties are damaged by the people and theft is a common problem.

• Also, people pull the chain and try to stop the train unnecessarily.

• All thus causes heavy damage to the railways.
