Soils are formed through the interaction of five factors:time,climate,parent material,topography and organisms.

The factors that influence the formation of the soil can be given by:

(1)Parent material:

 Formation of soil depends on its parents material from which soil formed.The quality of soil depends on the parent material.

(2)Climate:

 The formation of the soil depends on the climatic condition of that region.  

(3)Time:

 Soil formation depends upon time. Soil formation is a long process it takes a long time to form soil.

(4) Organisms:

The formation of soil also depends on the micro-organisms contained in the soil. Formation of soil gets affected by the type of material formed lives in soil.
