Answer:

It depends on the movement of the boundary between two adjacent electrolytes under the influence of an electric field. If a colored solution is used and the interface stays reasonably sharp, the speed of the moving boundary can be measured and used to determine the ion transference numbers.

Factors influencing the transport number of ions are "variation of transport with concentration", "variation of transport number with temperature", "variation of transport number with electrolyte".

1. variation of transport number with concentration:  A change in concentration of the electrolyte results in changes in the transport number of the ion.

2. Variation of transport number with temperature: Temperature is directly proportional to the temperature of the electrolyte. There is an increase in temperature of the electrolyte when the transport number is greater than 0.5 and there is a decrease in temperature of an electrolyte when the transport number is less than 0.5

3. Variation of transport number with electrolyte: Transport number changes when there is a change in the electrolyte. Anode and Cathode will have different transport numbers accordingly.
