The habitable zone, atmosphere, stablility, rotate and revolve on its axis are few factors that make the planet habitable.

Explanation:

  • An atmosphere: Any habitable planet must have all the necessary conditions in place to have an atmosphere or at least a protective layer of essential gases.
  • Mass of the Planet: Because low mass equals low gravity, a planet with a low mass is unsuitable for human settlement. Low gravity also means the planet won't be able to maintain an atmosphere, as constituent gases will rapidly reach escape velocity and escape into space.
  • Stability of Stars: For a planet, it’s important that the stars closest to it are stable in terms of their luminosity.  Although the illumination of every star increases over time, it should not be too high, otherwise, it will just burn up everything on the nearest planet.
  • Habitable Zone: A planet must be a comfortable distance away from a star, such as our solar system's sun, in order to support life. The Habitable Zone (HZ) is a shell-shaped region of space around a star where a planet can keep liquid water on its surface.
