What are the factors which affect the pressure at a point in liquid ?
Answers
The amount of pressure in a fluid is directly proportional to its height or depth. The amount of pressure in a fluid is directly proportional to its Density. The amount of pressure in a fluid is directly proportional to the Acceleration due to gravity.
❁ Factors affecting liquid pressure ;
⚘ Pressure is directly proportional to density of the liquid :
❁ In the Barometer,mercury is used to find atmosphere pressure instead of water and other liquids because of high density. we can use water also but tube of larger length is required .
⚘ Pressure is directly proportional to height of the liquid ;
❁ Example; The bubbles of air and water become larger and larger in size as they move up. This is because as they move up height of water decreases in pressure on the air Bubbles decreases .Due to this the size of the air bubble increases .
⚘ Effect of gravity on the pressure ;
❁ Pressure is directly proportional to acceleration due to gravity (g).
❁ Acceleration due to gravity is different at different altitudes (h) and its pressure is different at different altitudes .
