Meristematic tissues consist of continously dividing cells they are living in nature and grows continously . These are of three types apical,lateral and intercalary. Apical meristems also known as primary meristems and present at the tip of root and shoot and increases length of plant. Intercalary meristems are present at internodal region and helps in increasing length. Lateral meristems are also known as secondary meristems. They are present on sides and increases girth of the plant
