The five major stages of electoral process in India:
India is the world’s largest functioning democracy, the government is chosen by the people and every five years there’s a re-election and the government is again formed. The process of re-election in the country is divided in a few stages – the stages are
1. Fixing of the dates - the dates on which the elections will be contested is divided in different stages in different states.
2. Nomination of the candidates – the people who will contest their names are written down.
3. Election Campaign - The political parties show off their manifestos for the elections .
4. Election day - The public caste their votes.
5. Results - Determines who won the election.
