QUESTION:-

What are the five non living things that need air?

ANSWER

The five non-living things that need air are Hot air balloon, Aeroplanes, Kites, Ceiling fans and Hair dryer.

  1. Hot Air balloons need air because it follows the principle that hot air rises while cold air sinks. This principle is the reason behind the fly of the hot air balloon because the hot air inside the balloon has lesser weight due to less density while the air outside the balloon has more weight due to cooler and denser air which causes it to float upward.
  2. Aeroplanes need air because anything that flies needs air. Air has the power to push and pull on planes. A plane flies through the air due to continuous push and pull from the surrounding air. In the reaction moving to force air down makes the air push the aeroplane upward.
  3. Kites needs air to fly because it is dependent on the string's tension and moving air which is created by the wind for generating thrusts.
  4. Ceiling fans need air because to provide cooler air, the fan blows air over a very heated sink. As we know, the air is cooler than the heated sink so it cools it off through the process of heat conduction.
  5. Hair dryer needs air because the movement of the fan blades brings air in from the small round air inlets which are placed in the side case of the hair dryer.
