Cyclone Fani - The most recent disaster in India.

It came in April - May 2019.

It hit Odisha and Andhra pradesh from Bay of bengal in India.

Atleast 1 million people were shifted from place of occurrence of this Cyclone.

It can be seen as a major achievement for govt.

But there was huge loss of resources, electricity connection get destroyed among other things in Odisha.

2018 Kerala Floods - The worst floods in India due to excessive rainfall occured in Kerala last year. The govt despite of earlier information could not do much. Nearly 500 people were killed and many were missing. Huge amount was spent on rebuilding state and it is still recovering.

Kedarnath Floods 2013 - These Floods are known to everyone. It killed over staggering 5000 people.

Centred in Uttarakhand, it was mainly due to cloud burst and more than heavy rainfall. It also affected neighbour state Himachal Pradesh and even Nepal.

No. of pilgrims were caught in flood who came at Kedarnath Temple.

Indian Navy, para military forces, air force did rescue work and saved lives and resources.

2015 South Indian Floods - It occured mostly in Tamil Nadu and Kerala due to excessive rains. Great loss of resources happened. Over 450 persons were killed and millions displaced.

2001 Gujarat Earthquake - A earthquake of magnitude 7.7 for over 2 minutes shocked whole Gujarat. Epicenter was at Kutch. Over 10,000 were killed. This earthquake affected both India and Pakistan. It is most dangerous earthquake ever to come in India.

These all Natural Disasters have killed so many innocent lives over period of time. Invaluable amount of resources have been lost.

They are timely reminders of what humans are doing to mother earth. We must conserve nature. A lot of things are going to happen in future too with this approach of Humans. And as we all are seeing water crisis in Chennai, we must be very scared and responsible towards nature and future generations.
