what are the five uses of true solution, colloid and suspension
Answers
True solutions are the types in which the particles are having very minute size as small or less than 1 nm. So they can be used in places where the permeability of slightly bigger sized particles is just not possible like a nano membrane. The colloidal solutions and suspensions on the other hand are having bigger particle size equivalent to 1 nm to 100 nm – for colloidal and greater than 100 nm for suspension. So they are generally used in most chemical preparations where particles needs to be separated easily.
True solutions are also used for preparing solutions in which the particles does not have to be visible to naked eyes. This makes the process of tracking them practically impossible without a microscope. Colloidal solutions and suspensions are generally used in places where the particles needs to be tracked and separated from the solutions.
If any chemical changes does not require the particles of the solution to be settled down completely then true solutions are always more helpful as compared to colloidal solutions or suspensions as in both cases the particles get settled by gravity or centrifugation.
True solutions are also better to be used in places where parchment membrane is used for filtering particles while colloidal solutions and suspensions are used where filter paper is used for filtering or separation of particles.
