The tendency of a body in motion continues to remain in motion, moving with a uniform velocity and a body at rest continues to remain at rest unless acted upon by a force. This tendency of the body is known as 'inertia' (i.e. resistance to change). In Newton's First Law of Motion, this concept is quantified.

•In case of body at rest, static force acts upon it n it will remain in its condition until an external force is applied.

•In case of uniform motion,no external forces are required to keep the body in uniform motion.

Hope it helps!
