The parliamentary system (English: parliamentary system) is that system of democratic governance in which the executive derives its democratic legitimacy from the legislature (parliament) and is responsible to the legislature. Thus in the parliamentary system, the executive and the legislature are interrelated. In this system, the head of state and the head of government are different persons. The executive is the main ruler. India has a parliamentary governance system. Conversely presidential systemIn the (primary system), usually the president of the state is also the president of the government (executive). More important, in the presidential system, the executive does not derive its democratic legitimacy from the legislature. In this system, the President is the ruler.
