hey!

here is the answer

First what is charge ?
=> basic phenomena of electricity is charge .

means charge is a property associated with the fundamental particle which is responsible for electric force .

Types of charge :

1. positive : when we rub glass rod with silk, then charge will appear on a glass rod is positive charge .

2. Negative : when we rub ebonite rod with a woollen cloth then the charge which appears on ebonite rod is negative charge .

Unit of charge :

charge on electrons is 1.6 × 10^-19

charge on protons is 1.602×10^-19

Properties of charge

1. like charges repel each other while unlike charges attract each other .

2. charge is conserved :

it means , electric charge can neither be created nor be destroyed but an algebraic sum of positive and negative charges in an isolated system remains constant.

3. charge is quantized :

it means a substance or a body has electric charge which exist in discrete packets .
Any charged body or a substance has a total electric charge 'q' which is an integral multiple of charge on an electron .
this q= ne where n = 1,2,3,4,5,6...............................
and e = 1.6×10^-19C

4. charges are added algebraically

Theory of electrification refers to pic

hope it helps you

thanks

The four properties of electric charge are as follows-

1. The nature of a charge is additive.

If multiple charges are given, the system's total charge will be obtained by adding all the charges.

2. It is conserved.

A charge is not capable of being destroyed or developed but can only be transferred through conduction or induction, etc.

3. It can be quantified.

A charge can be represented as multiples of a charge's basic unit.

4. Attraction and repulsion.

If charges are opposite, they will repel and vice versa.
