The four properties of material are-
1. Lustre:
- When some of the materials are cut, a shining surface is exposed. This shine is called lustre.
- Most of the metals possess the property of lustre.
2. Brittle-
- When a material cannot undergo large deformation and breaks easily, it is said to be brittle.
- Most of the nonmetals are brittle.
3. Ductility-
- This is a property of a material by virtue of which large thin wires can be drawn from a material.
- Generally, metals are ductile. Hence, we can obtain copper wires, aluminium wires, etc.
4. Malleability-
- The property of a material to be beaten into thin, flat sheets is called malleability.
- Again, malleability is the property of metals.
