Rough endoplasmic reticulum (rer) it looks rough because ribosomes are attached to it's surface
at molecule synthesis

▶Rough endoplasmic reticulum and smooth endoplasmic reticulum have same functions.only the difference is that rough endoplasmic reticulum have ribosomes on its surface whereas smooth endoplasmic reticulum doesn't have ribosomes.
▶main Characterstics:
1)irregular network Of tubular double membrane.
2)it is continuos with the plasma membrane on the outside and the nuclear membrane on the inside.
▶Functions of endoplasmic reticulum:-
1)supportive framework for the cell.
2)synthesis and transportaion of proteins amd fats.
