and Supreme Court is followed by High Court in state.

☆High Court is the highest level of court at state level.

☆ Article-214 says that each state shall gave a High court but in some

cases, a high court is shared by two or more states.

☆ At present, there are 24 high courts in India.

☆ First High courts in India were established in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai in 1862.

☆ Allahabad High court was established in 1866 AD.

☆If laws made by the state legislature violate the Constituion, then High court can declare them as invalid, this power of high court is known as judicial review.

☆High Court can review and examine the decisions made by subordinate courts.
