split rings : Split rings R1 and R2 , of a

metal are connected to the

ends of the armature coil.

The rings are fixed to the

axel. There is insulation in

between the rings and the

axel.

Brushes : Two carbon brushes , B1 and B2 , are used to press the rings.

Armature Coil : It consists of a large number of turns of insulated copper wire wound on an iron core in rectangular shape.
