Answer- Nucleus- It is a spherical dense body located in the centre of the cell.

Functions-

1. It controls the functioning of whole cell.

2. It helps in protein-synthesis.

3. It takes part in cell division.

4. It contains chromosomes which have genes that contain the hereditary characteristics to be transferred from parent to offspring.
